Apprentice Teaching Assistant/Technician in PE
As a PE Apprentice, you will support the PE team and help students access a range of activities across lessons and clubs. You’ll gain practical, on‑the‑job experience working with young people, while also completing your apprenticeship training.
You will support students in PE lessons, small groups or one‑to‑one to help them engage and access activities.
You will support students to get ready for the lesson.
Prepare and organise equipment, set up lesson resources and help teachers get ready for practical activities.
Help run and support extracurricular clubs, sports sessions and activities before, during and after school.
You will receive structured apprenticeship training, learn on the job with experienced PE and teaching staff, and build the skills needed for a future career in sport, education or coaching.
Training:
Training will take place at Shrewsbury College, London Road Campus for day release, with the remaining working week at Belvidere School.
Training Outcome:
Apprentice could progress to teaching assistant, coaching, education or sport.
