Role Responsibilities – Upper KS2 Teacher

As an Upper KS2 Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across Year 5 and Year 6

Prepare pupils for KS2 SATs and end-of-key-stage assessments

Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress and attainment

Differentiate learning to support pupils of varying abilities

Support pupils’ transition from primary to secondary school

Contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school initiatives

Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and leadership staff

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Upper KS2 Teacher committed to delivering excellent outcomes for pupils.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5 or Year 6) or strong readiness to step into the role

Strong understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum

Confidence in preparing pupils for SATs

Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

Right to work in the UK

Desirable

Experience improving pupil attainment in Year 6 SATs

Subject leadership or curriculum development experience

Commitment to professional development and collaborative working
