Engineering Apprentice
You will spend time in our in-house training school learning basic machine and hand fitting skills as well as Inspection techniques and CNC machining.
You will then progress onto the works to complete your apprenticeship in the relevant department reporting to the area supervisor.
Tasks include:
Basic programming skills Setting up a machine for small batch work Running machines to complete work efficiently Problem solving Part inspectionTraining:
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Level 2 Engineering Operative Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.
As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.

Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations Level 2 Diploma in Engineering OperationsTraining Outcome:
Full-time position with the company and the opportunity to progress on to the level 3 apprenticeship.

Slack & Parr is a precision engineering company producing high precision components for our global customers. Our manufacturing facility consists of a large machine shop with CNC Lathes, Milling Machines and Grinding machines as well as our own in-house and established Apprentice Training School which has ran an apprenticeship Program since 1968.
Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday, 7.15am - 4.00pm. Friday, 7.15am to 12.15pm.
