Early Years Apprentice

Purpose of Job:

Responsible as an Early Years Apprentice for 0 – 5 year olds
Report directly to the Childcare Lead

Main Duties: Operational, in line with training:

Motivate and stimulate children’s learning and development Provide care and offer an appropriate level of support to children, providing them with a secure and stimulating environment Organise and make imaginative use of learning resources Liaise and support parent/carers of children Implement and review the curriculum within the EYFS Record written observations on children’s Learning

Personnel, in line with training:

Effectively supporting the Childcare Lead and staff team
 

Health and Safety

Ensure the health and safety of all children and staff are maintained, acting appropriately in an emergency situation ensuring that the safety and well-being of the children is paramount at all times
 

General

Comply with all OFSTED requirements Implement policies and procedures of the Pre-school Develop the Pre-school free from prejudice and without discrimination in line with equal opportunities and current legislation Create a stimulating and happy learning environment Develop and maintain the Pre-school high standard of care in line with Best Practice

Requirements:

 Level 2 Childcare qualification Motivate and inspire children Plan and schedule own work and prioritise Be creative and imaginative whilst creating a stimulating environment Work as a team member Strong organisational skills Reliability and honesty A good standard of personal presentation Excellent communication skills - oral and written Tact, discretion and respect confidentiality

Desirable Requirements:

Enhanced CRB/DBS Current Paediatric First Aid Knowledge and experience of EYFS

Training:
Attend Filton Campus Delivery will be a day release (Fortnightly)

Training Outcome:

Permanent full-time position within the nursery on completion of apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
40 hours per week including study time. Monday to Friday. Shifts TBC.
