Apprentice Engineer
The successful candidate will learn a broad range of skills including, but not limited to:
Sub-assembly: Building various assemblies from component parts including metal brackets, wires, electronic circuit boards and plastic mouldings Wire manufacture: Using cut and crimp machines to make a range of wires Product testing: Performing full function tests on completed products, looking for faults and setting the correct temperature Pipe-bending: using a CNC bending machine to produce a range of copper pipes Laser-cutting: Using fibre laser machines to cut a variety of metal parts, monitoring cut quality and adjusting where necessary. Operating press brake machinery: Typically to fold laser-cut parts into finished brackets and including any additional operations Basic welding could be included for the right candidate with an interest and some knowledge/ practical skillsCalomax wish to employ a multi-skilled, conscientious person to join our busy manufacturing and assembly team. Our flexible production system and modular product design allows us to easily change our production schedule to suit demand. As a result, the jobs required will change to match this, resulting in a varied working week. Full instruction / in-house training will be provided, and this will progress to include setting up and adjusting machinery / programs (where applicable) to maintain quality. Applicants should be able to interpret basic engineering drawings and job instructions. They should be thorough, have a good eye for detail, and be confident to report any issues they encounter which may impact on the quality of the end product.

In the intervening 70+ years our boilers have developed beyond recognition, but the core values of durability and value for money remain unchanged. Our boilers are built to last, and properly serviced and maintained should last 5 years, at the very least.
Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday, 7:30am- 3:30pm. Friday, 7:30am- 3:00pm. 30 minute lunch break per day.
