Laboratory Technician Apprentice
You will work closely with experienced applications professionals, rotating across the applications functions. By the end of the program, we expect you to be able to deliver clear protocols for orthogonal analysis within our key market segments.
Some of your key responsibilities will include.
Prepare and carry out laboratory tests and experiments following standard operating procedure Accurately record and analyse data using appropriate software and reporting tools Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and cleanliness Follow strict health and safety protocols, including COSHH and risk assessments Assist in stock control and ordering of laboratory consumables Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to team projectsTraining:
You will undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' training provider, CSR Scientific Training, which will include:
Fully recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 3 Laboratory Technician On-the-job competency training Theoretical knowledge - BTEC Level 3 Applied Science (if required)The majority of your learning will be completed online once a week with some face-to-face practical sessions/exams in Birmingham (if BTEC is included).
Upon successful completion, apprentices can apply for professional registration as a Registered Science Technician, RSciTech, with either the Institute of Physics, Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology.
Training Outcome:
After this apprenticeship, the apprentice will have a deep knowledge of how our instruments work and are used by our customers, allowing them to continue on the applications team, moving into application specialist and following the application career path or move into parts of the business like sales, R&D, continuous improvement, operations, etc.
