Equine Groom Apprenticeship - Eventing
A non rider position is preferred but the successful candidate has an option to hack horses, if they choose to. Candidates must be willing to to travel to national and international events to assist the current travelling groom - as this may be required.
General duties to include:
Mucking out Turning out/bringing in Tack cleaning Tacking up Feeding Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming Bathing Rug changing Paddock maintenance Schooling Riding First aid Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) Holding for vet/farrier/dentist.Training:
All training will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of employers, and will be carried out by Haddon Training. Senior Equine Groom Level 3 (A level) Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
Training Outcome:
Upon completion, there may be an opportunity to gain permenant employment for the right candidate.

Based in the heart of Kent, Foxbury Springs is the home of Trew Eventing. Event rider Adam Trew started his eventing career in 2011 which quickly progressed to being qualified 5* within the first 3 years after completing many prestigous events such as Blair Castle, Boekelo and achieving a top 4 finish at Ballindenisk. Hard work, a dedicated team and some fantastic owners means that Adam now holds an impressive string of quality event horses. Securing his position as an established event rider.
Working Hours :
The successful candidate can expect to be working 40 hours per week. Shifts are to be discussed with the employer.
