Equine Groom apprentice
Litchfield Equestrian specialise in the sale of quality young horses and also offer breaking and retraining services designed to suit individual needs. They also teach children and adult riding lessons both in groups and individually.
Some of the stable & yard management duties will include;
Preparing feeds and feeding Preparing for exercise Tacking up and tack cleaning Lunging and putting on the walker Turning out & bringing in Mucking out Bathing Assisting at competition days Plaiting Could include riding/competing in the competition if requiredThis apprenticeship is work based at the employers premises so not lots of time sitting in a classroom. If you did not gain your maths & English GCSE's in school we can support you to gain these whilst on programme.
Training:
You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship, either riding on non-riding depending on your current abilities.
You will complete the training at the employers premises, with the employer and supported by Haddon training.
If you need support with maths and English, Haddon Training will provide support in you gaining your Functional Skills qualifications in these subjects.
Training Outcome:
Learn about selling horses Grow your business knowledge Develop your riding skills Possibility to progress to the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship or you could even change direction and complete a Business Administration apprenticeship if you wanted to change direction!

Litchfield Equestrian are a friendly, professional family-run yard, specialising in a high quality full livery service. They always pride themselves with high standards of care.
Working Hours :
Working 5 days out of 7, the final shift pattern will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant. You should however expect to work at least one weekend day per week.
