Horticulture Operative Apprentice (West Northants Norse Group Ltd)

We are looking to have an apprentice to start with us to learn all aspects of the ground’s maintenance role.

Duties will include but not limited to;

All types of grass cutting strimming edging weeding selective pruning weed spraying litter picking hedge shaping/cutting, planting.

Training:
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship. The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship. The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship. You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.

Training Outcome:
Once the course has been passed there is a good chance of being taken on full time as a Skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative.

Employer Description:
West Northants Norse started a partnership with West Northants Council in 2018 taking over the ground’s maintenance of the town and surrounding parish councils.
