Apprentice Painter and Decorator - Liverpool

You will combine a combination of college and practical learning to study your chosen trade.  You will get the opportunity to put your new skills into practice, while supported by the expert guidance of our experienced tradespeople, your own mentor.   

The specific type of work will vary contract to contract, you could be working in a variety of settings including schools/colleges, social housing and National Trust properties. The types of tasks we cover include: 

Preparing surfaces (filling, sanding, caulking)   Mastering the art of paint application (rolling, cutting in, brush skills) Sprucing up gloss work (doors and window frames, skirtings)  Getting outdoors with external works (railings, sheds, fences and walls) Exploring different sites, working both inside and outside in all weather, whether it’s getting hot in the homes, or wrapping up in the winter on a commercial site 

Training:

You will:

Attend college to understand “the how and the why” of your chosen trade (usually 1 day a week) Build a fantastic portfolio of evidence to go towards your End Point Assessment Be a valued member of the team and contribute to the overall success 

Apprentices will follow the Level 2 Painter and decorator Apprenticeship Standard - delivery method and location of training to be confirmed.



Training Outcome:

Following successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be offered a role as a fully trained operative at Ian Williams.

Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, Friday 8am - 3.30pm
