People Support Apprentice

On a typical day, the apprentice will:

Update employee records and prepare HR documents such as contracts or letters. Support recruitment by posting job adverts, reviewing applications, and arranging interviews. Help with onboarding by preparing offer paperwork and welcoming new starters. Maintain attendance, holiday, and absence records to support payroll. Respond to basic employee queries about policies, benefits, and processes. Assist with organising training sessions and keeping training records up to date. Help prepare HR reports and support compliance checks. Draft internal HR communications and support company events and wellbeing activities. Provide general administrative support to the People Team, including scheduling meetings and managing files.

Training:

Training will take place both in the workplace and through structured sessions delivered by City Skills. The apprentice will receive:

Live facilitated training every two weeks (2‑hour sessions). One‑to‑one coaching with industry‑leading coaches and tutors. Formal progress reviews every 7–8 weeks to track development. Post‑session challenges to apply learning in real workplace situations.

All training is designed to support completion of the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship, combining practical experience with expert-led teaching.



Training Outcome:

This apprenticeship is designed to lead into a long-term career with us. Once qualified, the apprentice can progress into a People Assistant or Coordinator role and continue growing their responsibilities as part of a developing and supportive People Team.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, start and end times to be agreed, but approximately, times will be 9.00am - 5.00pm.
