Level 2 Apprentice
An average day at the start of the apprenticeships would be to shadow one of our long-term experienced welders/fabricators and technical managers. Watching and listening to their guidance.
We always like to get our apprentices to be hands-on whenever possible, so trial welding/fabricating would be offered under guidance Helping out wherever needed in collecting items from stores to be usedThe ability to read drawings and compile drawings. All our tanks are manufactured from drawings produced by our Technical Team, also involved would be liaison with other departments in the company, ie Sales, Accounts, Production and Installation, all of whom are key to the business, so if they are confident, they will be an asset when dealing with other departments.
There will be some administrative work.
The long-term position is for someone to work alongside our technical manager, so the possibilities are endless.
Training:
Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX)
Level 2 comprises of:
Duration approximately 18 months, which includes 24 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theoretical aspects, working to complete the following qualifications:
EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills) EAL Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)Training Outcome:
As you progress along the apprenticeship road, there is a pathway to progress to full-time positions.

Ledbury Welding and Engineering is one of the UK’s leading bulk fuel manufacturers, supplying most of the major supermarket chains with our modular filling stations, as wells as providing bulk fuel storage facilities for hauliers, coach companies etc.
Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday 08.00 – 16.30 hrs. Friday 08.00 – 15.30 hrs. Half an hour unpaid lunch break. Paid coffee break mid-morning.
