Apprentice Welder
Welding Stainless Steel and Mild Steel to EN1090 coded welding qualifications/specifications
Read manufacturing drawings and weld according to the plan
Ensure Housekeeping is of a high standard
Inspection of welds to ensure conformity to EN1090 and Drawing
Planning welding operations before beginning
Using in house job tracking software to digitally sign your work off
Ensuring the work completed is of a high quality and every item has been inspected
The use of Grinding, Cutting and Linishing equipment
Manufacturing using Jigs and Fixtures
Helping apprentices with their technique and understanding of welding/fabrication
Ensuring welding equipment is set correctly, looking at gas ratio, drive rolls, wire spool hub welding wire and program number for butt/fillet and thickness of steel
Reporting conflicting information on drawings/components not to specification
Ensure equipment used is in calibration
Ensure manufacturing tolerances are adhered to
Maintain equipment in a condition which does not compromise safety
Training:
Training will take place at Printworks Campus, Leeds
You will attend college one day per week
Training Outcome:
Progresison onto Level 3 Apprenticeship
