Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

Main roles and Responsibilities:

Preparing, setting up, operating and adjusting machinery Applying risk assessment and hazard processes Monitoring, obtaining and checking stock and supplies, and completing stock returns Reading, recording and interpreting information Applying scientific, engineering and mathematical principles Planning and organising workload and resources Following and applying inspection and quality assurance procedures and processes Selecting processes, tools and devices, and measuring/ checking components for their condition and suitability Applying machining operations and techniques to produce complex components with features Finding faults and rectifying them Maintaining the work area and following safety procedures Applying principles throughout work and approaches

Training:
The learner will be studying the Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification Day release to West Suffolk College

Training Outcome:
A position may be available for the right candidate following successful completion of the apprenticeship The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop and gain a position following their apprenticeship

We are a manufacture of components for all industries, from Food, Automotive, Marine, Defence, Aerospace, Medical. Acutech operates with a range of both CNC and traditional milling and turning machines supported by CNC wire erosion, spark erosion and with Laser etching capabilities to provide a high-quality product in a cost-effective way.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday- 8.30am-17:00pm, 15 minute paid mid-morning Tea Break and 30 minutes unpaid lunch break. (13:00-13.30pm)
