Service Technician Apprenticeship

Service technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features.

The role will vary by the employer based upon the specific needs of the location, but the position typically involves:

Developing an understanding of workshop equipment Advising the service receptionists about required repairs Producing time estimates Maintaining repair and service records

Training:
The programme lasts for at least 36 months (3 years) and you'll achieve a nationally recognised qualification All our apprentices are employed through the dealer network and attend weeklong block training at our state-of-the-art training centre in Daventry Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules Your development is supported through your apprenticeship journey, with your learning focused towards achieving a qualification recognised across the motor industry This will provide the foundation to develop your career, as there are lots of opportunities within our expanding dealer network to progress and move into new roles once you’ve successfully completed the programme Qualification: Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) Before the Standard is met, all apprentices must hold a certificate that meets the EU’s 2014 F-gas regulation

Training Outcome:
There are lots of opportunities within our expanding dealer network to progress and move into new roles once you’ve successfully completed the programme
