Position: Staff Nurse(RGN)

Salary: £20.00 an hour

Shift Pattern: Fulltime Nights, 36-hours a week

Location: New Milton BH25 

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, safe and person-centred nursing care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met in line with NMC standards, CQC regulations, and the home’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to residents at all timesConduct and review nursing assessments, care plans, and risk assessmentsAdminister medications safely in accordance with NMC guidelines and company policyMonitor residents’ physical and mental health, identifying and escalating any deterioration promptlyManage wounds, pressure area care, continence care, and end-of-life careAccurately document care provided, maintaining clear and up-to-date records

Leadership & Teamwork

Supervise and support care assistants and junior staff on shiftAct as Nurse in Charge when requiredPromote best practice and a positive, professional working environmentParticipate in staff handovers and multidisciplinary meetings

Safeguarding & Compliance

Safeguard residents in line with local safeguarding proceduresAdhere to CQC Fundamental Standards, NMC Code, and company policiesEnsure infection prevention and control standards are maintainedReport incidents, accidents, and concerns appropriately

Communication

Communicate effectively with residents, families, GPs, and other healthcare professionalsProvide emotional support and clear information to residents and relativesMaintain confidentiality at all times

Professional Development

Maintain a valid NMC registration and revalidation requirementsParticipate in mandatory training and continuous professional development (CPD)Support student nurses or newly appointed staff when required

Person Specification

Essential

Registered Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC PINRight to work in the UKGood knowledge of CQC standards and safeguardingStrong clinical skills and decision-making abilityExcellent communication and record-keeping skills

Desirable

Experience working in a nursing or care home environmentKnowledge of dementia care and end-of-life careLeadership or mentorship experience
