We are currently seeking a Junior Draughtsman to join a growing architectural metalwork team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in steel detailing who is looking to further develop their career within a well-established fabrication environment.
Location: Essex (Office Based) Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum Hours: 8:00 - 16:00 Software: Advanced Steel Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using Advanced Steel
Prepare fabrication drawings for architectural metalwork packages
Create general arrangements, detailed sections, and connection details
Develop drawings for staircases, balustrades, handrails, balconies, and bespoke metalwork
Liaise with design teams, project managers, and workshop staff to ensure buildability
Revise drawings in line with client comments and engineer approvals
Ensure drawings comply with relevant building regulations and project specifications
Assist with material take-offs and coordination of information for production
Support site teams with technical drawing queries when required
Requirements:
Previous experience in steel detailing or architectural metalwork
Proficient in Advanced Steel
Understanding of fabrication processes and installation methods
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
