Childcare Apprenticeship - Dunstable

The candidate will be expected to follow the setting's policies and procedures to ensure that the children are kept safe and healthy, provide the children with a stimulating environment and encourage and support child-initiated learning. You will be responsible for caring for babies/ young children to a high standard and support the organisation of activities and to help implement the daily routine. You will be assisting staff in delivering a provision of high quality for the children who attend the nursery. You will be offered opportunities to extend your learning and development by accessing a multitude of training and learning from highly qualified staff with many years' experience.

Your role will include:

Working under the guidance of the manager and colleagues, in order to support and extend the children’s learning Contribute own thoughts and ideas to daily planning Preparing the learning environment, assisting in the organisation of the room arrangement and resources Valuing and displaying children’s work Helping to encourage children’s development, independence, self-reliance, initiative and problem-solving skills Observing children’s activities and contributing to their written records Working in a non-discriminatory way, being aware of differences and ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn, develop and reach their potential Maintaining respectful and genuine interaction with children Being supportive and welcoming to parents / carers Following the health & safety procedures to maintain a health & safe environment Preferred candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this

Training Outcome:

There is a possibility of being offered a full-time role after successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Linden House is a small independently run day care nursery we have been established for over 20 years and we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and supportive environment for apprentices to grow and learn in. You will have support from well established and qualified staff with many years experience of the setting you will be based in.

Working Hours :
Monday-Friday (between 08:00-18:00).
