The Role – Engineering Manager (Manufacturing Site)

You will oversee direct reports and manage the entire engineering, design, and production operations, ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for technical operations, P&L responsibility, resource planning, process improvement, and people development, all within a bespoke manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and motivate engineering, design, and operational teams across production, design, and equipment sub-divisionsDeliver high-quality bespoke electromechanical solutions tailored to client requirementsOversee direct reports, ensuring teams are engaged and delivering to the highest standardsFull P&L responsibilityMonitoring operational and technical performance through KPIsEnsure customer specification is accurately planned, designed and delivered to cost, quality, and timeline expectationsCollaborate with the sales team on new product development, customer propositions, and tender costingMaintain and improve safety, quality, and risk management systemsDrive continuous operational and technical improvements across processes, technology, and team capability

Who We Are Looking For

Proven engineering or technical leadership experience in bespoke manufacturingExperience managing multi-disciplinary teams, including design, engineering design, production, and software supportStrong background in process improvement, people development, and operational excellenceExperience with budgets, P&L, and cash managementTechnical experience in bespoke electromechanical solutions or custom engineered productsExceptional communication, organisational, and leadership skills
