Apprentice Fabricator / Welder
Undertake general engineering activities including fabrication and sheet metal activity. Medium to heavy gauge production in both mild and stainless steel.
Production of high standard products and components.
Provide support to the Engineering team to a high standard of accuracy and presentation.
Day to day duties will include:
Using Guillotine & Folding Machine Plasma cutting General hand/power tools Reading CAD drawings Accurately measuring Welding - using MIG & TIGTraining:
Metal Fabricator Level 3.
The apprentice's first year will be at Burnley College. In the 2nd and 3rd year, the apprentice will attend college for day-release and spend the rest of the working week at Greaves.
Training Outcome:
Potential for full-time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Employer Description:
Located in Lancashire, UK, Greaves have a modern 2000 square metre design, test and manufacturing facility and use the latest computer design and manufacturing techniques to optimise both efficiency and performance of their products.
These include rotor/stator, dispersers, propellers, turbines, as well as anchor paddles with combined scrapers.
All models are available from pilot scale for research purposes and Greaves have their own pilot facility which is used to test client’s products and optimise the appropriate method and type of mixer for the given applications.
Working Hours :
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm with Fridays 7.30am - 12.30pm. Holidays are 26 days per annum plus 8 statutory.
