Apprentice Teaching Assistant

Work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to learners and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher Support the classroom teacher to facilitate the active participation of learners in the academic and social activities of the academy Contribute to raising standards of achievement for all learners Work with individuals or small groups of learners in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff Support learners to understand instructions Support independent learning and inclusion of all learners Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping learners on task

Training Outcome:
Most apprentices go on to work as teaching asssistants, with the potential with further development to become Higher Level Teaching Assistants or Cover Supervisors

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 6.25 hours per day 8.30am - 3.30pm, term time only
