Metallic Machining Apprentice

Key Skills to be developed during the Apprenticeship include:

The use of manual and CNC machine tools for the manufacture of precision machined components. Understanding and interpreting technical drawings and developing understanding of specifications and geometrical tolerances. Developing competence in CAD/CAM software for design & manufacturing. Ability to use a wide range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques. Understanding manufacturing processes and sequences. Develop professional, positive relationships with all team members, with a focus on working collaboratively with all areas of the Machine Shop. Safe working within general Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines with specific attention and working to Departmental Risk Assessments.

Training:

Block release learning at MTC.

Machining Technician.
