Apprentice Welder Fabricator (Level 3 Engineering)
Working within the Fabrication Shop the apprentice welder fabricator will be required to:
Read and understand and follow engineering drawings Work to engineering tolerances Use the most suitable welding method for the job in hand Use various hand and power tools (grinders, cutting torches, hand files, hammer) Inspect and test cuts and joins, through the use of a variety of measuring equipment, micrometers etc.In addition to leaning the skills of a welder fabricator you may also be crossed trained in the use of a Plasma Machine.
Training:
The programme is delivered on a block-release whereby learners attend Stephenson college for one full week at a time, followed by 4 to 6 weeks working with their employer. Off-the-job training On-the-job training
Training Outcome:
Post-apprenticeship to obtain “coded” status, taking on more complex projects and troubleshooting difficult welds. Ensuring quality control and enforcing safety standards.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2.30pm. Daily Breaks: 30 minute unpaid lunch break and 2 x 15 min paid tea breaks
