Electrical & Control/Instrumentation Craft Apprentice

Applicants must be comfortable travelling and staying away from home a large percentage of the year.

This role would see the successful applicant working towards carrying out a variety of works, including but not limited to the following: 

Electrical Installations Switch gear & board maintenance (415v-11kv) HV Transformer maintenance (up to and including 132kv) Secondary injection testing Cable installations Battery maintenance and load testing Buildings testing/portable appliance testing Routine electrical maintenance Calibrations of sitewide instrumentation  Instrumentation fault diagnosis/repair Routine control and instrumentation maintenance Complete control and instrumentation installations CMX database creation/maintenance service 

Training:

Engineering Maintenance Technician - Dual Discipline Level 3.

The apprenticeship follows a 4-year programme, with the first year spent off the job at CATCH in Stallingborough. This would be Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4pm.  

The remainder of the apprenticeship is then completed onsite with the employer.  



Training Outcome:

Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a higher-level apprenticeship or full-time employment for the right candidate.

You will have developed a variety of interchangeable skills and have an in depth understanding of manufacturing and processes.

Working Hours :
Working pattern is largely determined by the site/project the apprentice would be working on. Work can involve 10 hour days at times, weekend working and overseas work. Exact shifts TBC.
