Workshop Joiner Apprentice
Support the manufacture, repair, and assembly of our large timber lock gates using traditional and modern joinery techniques
Work with hardwoods and other materials to cut, shape, and prepare components following technical drawings and templates
Use workshop machinery and hand tools safely and accurately to produce high‑quality parts that meet Trust specifications
Check materials meet required grades, dimensions, and quality standards
Carry out quality inspections on components and completed assemblies
Work efficiently as part of the production team to deliver gates to agreed timelines for installation across the waterway network
Promote inclusion and diversity across the Trust and challenge behaviours or decisions that conflict with our values
Demonstrate the Trust’s values and behaviours at all times
Training:
As a Trust apprentice, you will complete your apprenticeship training both on and off-the-job, including weekly attendance at our chosen training provider
Whilst on-the-job, you will work with supportive colleagues to get the best out of your apprenticeship experience. We regularly arrange placements for you to build your portfolio, as well as opportunities to work on projects. This involves working across our network, so you may be working away from home. No two days are the same

Working Hours :
The working hours of the workshop are 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday & 07:30 - 12:30 on Fridays.
