Early Years Practitioner Apprentice
Early Years Practitioners work directly with children daily, supporting purposeful play, learning activities, and care routines. They operate under the guidance of more qualified staff such as Early Years Educators or teachers.
Their responsibilities include:
Supporting child‑initiated and adult‑led activities Helping to deliver educational and play programmes Ensuring children feel safe, secure, and well‑cared‑for Assisting with routine care (feeding, toileting, personal care) Observing, assessing, and contributing to children’s development records Building positive relationships with families and other professionals (e.g., health visitors, speech and language therapists)Training:
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 1-day per week to take place at Northampton College
Training Outcome:
After completing Level 2, apprentices may progress to Early Years Educator (Level 3).
