Property Maintenance / Shift Engineer Apprentice - Aloft London Excel

As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s facilities to a high standard, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and minor repairs in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas Responding to maintenance and repair requests in a timely and professional manner Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety, and security procedures, including correct use of tools, equipment, and PPE Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards to management Maintaining accurate records Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments and supporting the wider engineering team Providing a friendly, professional service and responding positively to guest needs

This role involves physical work, including lifting and carrying equipment.



Training:

This apprenticeship is delivered as a weekly day release at our site in Stratford, E15. 

Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Standard Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour

Training Outcome:

There is an opportunity to secure a permanent position after successfully completing the apprenticeship.

Aloft London Excel has been operating since 2011. It features 252 loft-like guest rooms, a buzzing bar, appetising restaurant, quick grab-and-go food shop and recharging area with Swimming pool, Sauna, Steam room and Gym. Located in tranquillity of East London but just few stops away from the hustle of London is a perfect location for guests coming into Excel London Exhibition and flying in/out from London City airport.



Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 40 hours (32 hours working and 8 hours college), 30 minute lunch break. Times to be confirmed.
