Apprentice Building Surveyor

Apprentice Building Surveyors will assist in the following areas:

Working with different IT systems to provide existing and proposed plans and sketch schemes for perusal, agreement and discussions with clients. Preparation of the measured survey, design and construction drawings. All works involved with gaining statutory permissions, such as planning, listed building and building regulation consents. Preparation of design and contract documentation, administering tendering, contract administration of the works, financial control, through to completion and handover. Compliance with the construction (design and management) regulations. Party wall surveys, preparation of notices and awards. Acquisition surveys for commercial and residential properties. Dilapidations and lease advice. Schedules of condition. Project monitoring & project management. Forward planned maintenance inspections, costings and scheduling. Boundary disputes. Building pathology. Preparation of schedules of work.

Training:
You will follow the ‘Building Surveyor’ Degree Apprentice Standard. The majority of your tuition will be via the UCEM through online distance learning, and you’ll be expected to study elements of your degree during your time at work Whilst at work, you will be assigned a mentor, who will guide and support you through your day-to-day work activities; they will also support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you achieve your apprenticeship

Training Outcome:
We are looking for a long-term relationship with our apprentices and we have a long-term career structure in mind, whereby we see the apprentice developing into senior roles within our business as it grows. With this in mind, successful apprentices will be offered permanent contracts at the end of the 60 months

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm (there may need to be some flexibility due to the type of projects you will be working on).
