Job Title: Fleet Manager Type: Permanent Location: Manchester Salary: £35k - £38k 2fawcett are recruiting for a Fleet Manager to join our client in Manchester on a full time, permanent basis.
As the Fleet Manager, you will assist in the Purchasing of the engineer vehicles which are renewed when the mileage or age is reached and work with brokers to ensure new vehicle deliveries are made in a timely manner direct to the drivers.
Key Responsibilities • Working closely with key stakeholders across the Group to develop strategies for improved cost efficiency with data produced via telematics device • Manage providers on vehicle racking/livery/telematic devices coupled with dash cams to ensure fleet is fit for purpose pre-delivery and compliant • Ensure all vehicles are always ready and available to meet orders by scheduling and monitoring current trends in the industry, to enable annual forecasts • Communicating with Insurance Brokers and organizing the appropriate insurance for Drivers and vehicles • Assisting with the drafting and implementation of effective policies and processes regarding fleet operations • Managing strict vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimize downtime • Monitoring Driver behaviour and taking necessary action where necessary • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of vehicle inspections and services ensuring that all vehicles are properly registered; carry out inspections on a regular basis.
• Monitoring fleet costs and ensuring that they remain within budget including deciding the vehicles to be bought and how they are to be equipped and developing efficient renewal schedule across the fleet including negotiations with key vehicle manufacturers and agreeing terms and discounts • Regularly report the performances of the fleet to the key stakeholders within the business • Monitor fuel purchases by administering fuel cards for all vehicles to their respective drivers • Monitoring driver behaviour and ensuring a high level of compliance
Skills & Experience • Excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills • Good analytical and coordinating abilities • Ability to work as part of a team • Must be able to motivate the drivers to always ensure their full co-operation • Must be able to manage time effectively and meet/beat deadlines • A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in a similar role • Good knowledge of computer applications
