The role is working for a specialist Automotive company that fit and install auxiliary systems to HGV’s.
Every system is engineered, built and installed in-house — meaning you’ll see your work go from components to a finished, working vehicle.
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for skilled Mechanical Fitters to join the workshop team.
Duties of the Mechanical Fitter opportunity
This is a proper hands-on mechanical fitting role, not repetitive production line work.
You’ll be working on bespoke vehicle builds, installing and commissioning equipment onto trucks, and specialist vehicles.
The ideal candidate would be able to MIG and TIG (however the company would be able to train someone in TIG welding if they wanted to learn this skill).
Your work will include:
Fabricating and fitting brackets, frames and mechanical assemblies onto vehicles Installing pumps, pipework, valves and mechanical systems Welding Carrying out testing, commissioning and inspections. Diagnosing and rectifying faults or rework where needed Working from drawings, job packs and vehicle layouts Supporting the build of new and upgraded product designs Occasionally supporting off-site installations or breakdowns
