Level 2 General Farmworker Apprenticeship - Higher Maxworthy Farm

The main duties will include but are not limited to:

Spring calving working on 2 dairy units Operating farm machinery including tractors and attachments Monitoring livestock Monitoring supplies stock e.g. livestock feed etc Handling livestock and providing appropriate accommodation for them Working in a team and keeping records.

Interview will be via 1 day work trial.

Training:

You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. 

As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in agriculture. 

Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning. 

You will gain a General Farm Worker Level 2 qualification with further opportunities for training, development and permanent employment upon completion. If required, you'll also complete Functional Skills in English and maths.

Employer Description:
Higher Maxworthy Farm is based in Launceston, Cornwall. They have Spring calving grazing herds and a strong focus on cow health, low-cost sustainable, and profitable milk production. Milk going to Arla and Sabuto.   They are forward-thinking and proactive investing in the future. Recent growth and development has included 3 modern dairy units. The most recent being developed in 2017/18. With modern swing over parlors, a network of cow tracks facilitating easy access to grazing. Cows are grazed for 10 months of the year.     They are committed to providing good staff development and encourage their employees to grow within the business.

Working Hours :
5 in 7 days rota with split shifts, a 1 in 3 working weekend with flexible days off.
