Apprentice Bicycle Mechanic

Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the apprentice will:

Examine bicycles and identify components that may need repair, replacement, or adjustment Assist with installing, repairing, and replacing bicycle components including handlebars, seats, lights, stands, and accessories Adjust bicycle components in line with customer requests or company specifications Install and adjust speed, brake, and gear mechanisms Fit new bicycle parts and accessories as directed Assist with disassembling axles and other components to repair or replace faulty parts Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment Develop product knowledge and understanding of the cycle industry Support customer service activities, including communicating clearly with customers about repairs Work effectively as part of a small team and contribute positively to the workplace Be flexible to work weekends when required Carry out any other related duties

Training:
Enrolment on a City & Guilds Level 2 Bicycle Maintenance qualification Combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning Regular assessments and skill development reviews Progression in responsibility and technical competence over the 2-year programme

Training Outcome:

To work as a qualified Bicycle Mechanic in our Renew Hub.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00. Flexibility to work weekends when required.
