Operational Lead - Asset Management
Our client has grown to be one of the largest and most respected property consultancies and surveying advisory firms in the UK with a network of offices across England and Wales, employing more than 900 partners and employees. As a major property practise, they have a market leading team comprising of surveyors, valuers, environmental specialists, project managers and town planners. Providing sound independent advice on all aspects of an infrastructure project, they enable their clients to take full advantage of the opportunities that the land and property market presents.
As part of their long-term growth plans, our client is seeking an experienced and driven Operational Lead to join their Asset Management team. This is a senior leadership role with national responsibility, focused on delivering exceptional operational performance across large, diverse property portfolios while supporting the growth of new and existing client relationships.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of asset management delivery, leading a high-performing national team of around 80 Asset Managers, technical leads and support staff. Clients include major infrastructure organisations such as HS2, National Highways and East West Rail, and the company pride themselves on delivering an outstanding, client-focused service.
The successful candidate will have an asset management strategic background and ideally residential experience. While the role can be based from the Birmingham office, there is opportunity to be based at other UK office locations due to the national remit. Regular travel to sites across the UK will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the Head of Asset Management and Head of Operations to raise and maintain technical standards across asset management deliveryBe accountable for technical standards, compliance and legislative requirementsDrive performance against SLAs and KPIs, with overall accountability for quality and deliveryPartner with Client teams to ensure effective delivery and budgetary controlChampion and implement innovation across service deliveryLead and support new business development opportunitiesAssist with new contract mobilisationsProduce resource plans, scopes and cost estimates for commercial tendersProvide sound, strategic advice to a wide range of public and private sector property clientsHold accountability for the financial performance and profitability of asset management contracts
What We’re Looking For
MRICS qualified with significant experience in property and asset managementProven track record of managing large, multi-site portfoliosStrong experience in client relationship management at a senior levelA natural leader with the ability to drive delivery, performance and growthCommercially astute, with experience identifying and developing new opportunitiesExcellent communicator, confident working across all levels of an organisationAmbitious, knowledgeable and forward-thinking, with a passion for shaping best practiceWillingness to travel nationally with a full, clean UK driving licence.
