Accounting Technician
An opportunity has arisen for an Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper to join a well-established professional accountancy firm providing accounting, tax, and business advisory services to small and medium-sized organisations. As an Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper, you will be overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping duties while supporting a diverse client base. This is a full-time role offering hybrid working options (3 days in office, 2 days from home), a salary range of £35,000 - £40,000 and benefits. You will be responsible for: ? Performing reconciliations across all key balance sheet accounts, including bank, VAT, credit cards, receivables, payables, payroll, CIS, intercompany and loans. ? Managing purchase invoices, staff expenses and supplier payments ? Handling credit control activities and preparing VAT submissions ? Managing your own portfolio of clients ? Assisting with system integrations and supporting the preparation of year-end accounts ? Providing regular communication and assistance to clients ? Responding to client queries in a timely, professional manner ? Helping to guide and support junior team members What we are looking for ? Previously worked as an Accounting Technician, Bookkeeper, Practice Accountant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Semi Senior, Semi Senior Accountant, Accounts Technician, Assistant Accountant or in a simple role. ? Proven bookkeeping experience of at least 5 years within a accountancy practice environment ? Confident preparing VAT returns with up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations ? Comfortable managing multiple clients and meeting competing deadlines ? Skilled user of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero ?
