Medical Engineering Apprenticeship
As a Medical Engineering Apprentice at Leeds Teaching Hospitals you can expect to work in many different Medical Engineering disciplines across the LTH sites.
Some of the areas you will work in are Clinical Engineering, Renal Engineering, Imaging Engineering, Radiation Engineering and Rehabilitation Engineering.
You will develop a broad range of skills which will prepare you for a successful career in your chosen area of Medical Physics & Engineering.
Alongside your practical training you will undertake a work based Level 4 Qualification in Healthcare Science Apprenticeship training programme specialising in Medical Engineering.
Training:
The 2 year advanced apprenticeship will be undertaken in collaboration with our training provider.
Whilst being instructed and supervised by colleagues, the jobholder works both in workshops and in clinical areas carrying out technical activity on a broad range of medical equipment and learning how it is used clinically and how our service affects the patients we care for.
The jobholder is also required to successfully complete a number of externally and internally delivered technical and vocational training courses which result in formal qualifications.
Training Outcome:
It does not guarantee permanent employment but on successful completion of the Apprenticeship, which should take 2 years, the qualifications, experience and skills gained provide an opportunity to apply for and or progress to substantive roles with a possible starting salary of £27,485 and also further study, development and progression.

Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm
