26-0006 Apprentice Maintenance Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

Conducting planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime Performing mechanical repairs, including welding and fabrication Diagnosing faults using electrical drawings and testing equipment Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance performance and efficiency

This role is hands-on, so the candidate will need to be ready to work in an industrial environment. Strict adherence to PPE requirements is essential.



Training:

You will study on a Level 3 Mechatronics maintenance technician apprenticeship. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Level 3 standard

During the first year, you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full-time for an initial block of study.  You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.  After the initial block training, you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in Nottingham or London in the company, learning on the job.



Training Outcome:

Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships is a nationally recognised qualification which is acknowledged and respected by employers across the world. These can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors worldwide.

Working Hours :
You will work Monday to Friday. Your start and finish times including your shift pattern will be determined by the employing company.
