Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship
The morning often begins with a walk around the school grounds to ensure everything is safe and ready for pupils and staff
Check doors, gates, and classrooms, and address any immediate issues
Routine daily maintenance, such as fixing a dripping tap or replacing a lightbulb
Ad‑hoc jobs like repairing playground equipment or responding to unexpected leaks
Compliance responsibilities, i.e. monitoring fire safety systems, checking water temperatures and ensuring health and safety standards are met
Adapt and prioritise urgent repairs
Plan longer-term projects
Liaise with staff to keep the school running smoothly
Training:
Property Maintenance Operative Level 2
You will attend online/face-to-face sessions and be required to produce written work
Be observed during your real work activities
Attend regular reviews with your training provider and supervisor
Training Outcome:
On completion of this apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to gain a permanent position and further development within the school

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 7.15am - 12.15 pm; however, finish times can be flexible.
No evening work for the duration of the course.
