The role and what you’ll do:

Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to support students’ behaviour and learning so they can access the curriculum Help pupils with Special Educational Needs integrate and progress successfully Plan and use strategies in class, playgrounds and communal areas to support individuals and groups Ensure every pupil has a consistent, positive experience with the mentoring team Keep accurate records of mentoring sessions and share information with appropriate staff when needed Support pupils through transitions (e.g., returning to class, moving year groups) Work with under-achieving pupils and their families/carers to improve access to learning Model and maintain a calm, polite and respectful ethos in line with the college behaviour policy Support teaching staff when required and provide strategies for pupils to maintain/improve behaviour on return to lessons Uphold confidentiality and data protection (GDPR) at all times Carry out other reasonable duties as required (e.g., first aid, trips/events, cover for absent staff)

Training:

You will receive on the job and off the job training from our experienced team as well as the accredited apprenticeship training provider, Heart of England Training. Your success is important to us all and we will do all we can to support your studies and learning with us. On successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be awarded the Learning and Skills Mentor Level 4 standard.



Training Outcome:

The in-school support is excellent and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with and learn from experts. Previous apprentices have gained employment in the school and are still in post today; whilst this cannot be guaranteed, what we can say is that you will be very well-prepared for the next stage of your career, be that with us or elsewhere.

Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.00pm. Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm. 40 Weeks per year (Term time + 2 weeks).
