Vehicle Technician

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Vehicle Technician on a 12-month contract within the Police Force.
Location: North Yorkshire Job Role:

Responsible for providing high quality, credible and timely transactional support services for the maintenance of the fleet, delivering excellent customer service.
You will deliver services in accordance with agreed standards including KPIs and SLAs as well as contributing to the delivery of ongoing process and service improvements.
Effective maintenance and management of fleet in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, or procedures as applicable.
Develop and maintain good knowledge of key procedures and processes, identifying, resolving and escalating issues as appropriate.
Respond to service requests and undertake servicing, inspections, repairs, and planned work to the light vehicles within the fleet
Promote and act in accordance with the service catalogue, associated tools, SLA’s and KPI’s, ensuring they are clearly understood by service users and colleagues.
Ensure the provision of relevant and timely vehicle maintenance data
Contribute to or participate in research or project work on key issues or specific initiatives as required.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
Liaise with external/third-party suppliers as necessary to achieve the outcomes expected
Attend breakdowns and carry out repairs at any location offering both a static and mobile service when directed.
Ensure care and safe use of all tools, equipment, and parts/materials.
Take responsibility for your own health, safety and welfare and be aware of others, always working within the organisational policies and procedures for your area of business
Work on a predominantly mobile basis and take part in the on-call support arrangements.

Required Skills:

To succeed in this role, you will have relevant qualification(s) in fleet/vehicle maintenance and/or demonstrable experience of delivering high quality, customer orientated fleet maintenance services to meet required SLAs and KPIs, ideally in a high-volume environment.
You’ll have excellent customer service, problem solving and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with a broad range of diverse and demanding customers across a variety of platforms.
You’ll be able to use of Microsoft Office and IT systems and be capable of recording your activity in line with legislative and organisational requirements
Knowledge and understanding of statutory legislation and standards relating to fleet management would be desirable but not essential.
You will require a full current driving licence which is relevant to the areas of fleet to which provide support.

A L.G.V Category C licence would be beneficial, and training can be provided.
