Finance Administrator Apprentice

You will be involved in transactions that span the whole operations of the National Theatre, from Box Office sales to donations and outreach programmes, as well as our onsite restaurants and bookshop.

The Finance Department is responsible for the NT's accounting, finance and budgeting requirements.  The Finance Department comprises a team of c. 35 in total, including management accountants, a financial accounting team and a payroll team. In addition, an element of

core financial processing is undertaken within operating departments.

This role would be working in the financial accounting team, assisting with a wide variety of administration tasks that support achieving the NT’s objectives.

What you will learn during the Apprenticeship:

Assist in the Sales invoice process, monthly debtor reporting, credit Control, and credit checking new customers. Assist with the processing of purchase invoices, monthly creditor reporting and supplier statement reconciliation. Dealing with account queries for both customers and suppliers. Prepare bank postings, assist with company credit cards, manage staff cash expenses. Provide system support for the finance systems to the Finance team and wider organisation. Provide assistance during the year-end audit with ad-hoc reporting tasks and collating audit samples. Provide other administrative support as required, such as post management and filing duties.

Take responsibility for being on time and always working safely and considerately. Take responsibility for completing your college work and making sure your manager knows when you are sitting an exam and when a college assessor is meeting you. Behave professionally, including keeping workspaces neat and tidy and treating all staff and colleagues with respect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Banking cheques and other payments received. Opening and filing post received accurately and appropriately Monitoring shared email inboxes and making sure that colleagues receive regular updates to their queries and any actions are taken promptly. Assist with the review of our colleague's expense claims and credit card administration tasks. Assist with the preparation of our daily bank postings; and Assist with the issuing of customer invoices and dealing with customer queries.

Training:

BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.



Training Outcome:

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to opportunities within the team or wider organisation, subject to business needs and available vacancies. There is also the potential to continue with a Level 4 apprenticeship if a suitable opportunity is available.
