Mechanical Supervisor – Leading M&E Service Provider – Ealing, West London – £52,000
One of the UK’s leading maintenance contractors is currently seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join their long-standing contract based in Ealing, West London.
This contract covers several facilities and buildings within the higher education sector across the West London region. While the main base is in Ealing, additional sites include Brentford, Uxbridge, Oxford, and Reading, which will be visited on an ad-hoc basis.
The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee a team of eight engineers and will be responsible for all day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities, with a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance (PPM). The successful candidate will also work closely with the on-site Electrical Supervisor to ensure smooth coordination of all M&E activities across the estate.
Additional responsibilities include managing reactive mechanical maintenance, attending client meetings, compiling reports, supervising staff, and managing sub-contractors.
This position is predominantly hands-off regarding carrying out mechanical tasks directly. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with flexibility to adjust to 09:00–18:00 or 07:00–16:00 if required.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise all mechanical reactive and planned maintenance activities (PPM), ensuring delivery meets service level agreements and KPIsMonitor and update CAFM systems accurately, ensuring data integrity and performance trackingLead audits and inspections of mechanical assets and compliance documentation, including condition surveysManage small mechanical works and remedial tasks from identification through to completionEnsure compliance with statutory legislation, mechanical regulations, health & safety, and internal proceduresMaintain current COSHH records, risk assessments, and site documentationCoordinate and supervise mechanical subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety standards are upheldLiaise with the client, internal teams, and stakeholders, attending meetings as requiredSupport health & safety objectives by chairing or contributing to monthly site safety meetingsProvide technical mechanical support and act as a point of escalation during emergency situationsOversee the grounds maintenance teamParticipate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, ensuring continuity of mechanical services during evenings, weekends, and holidaysApplicant Requirements
