V05154 - Degree Apprentice Materials Engineering

Materials engineers ensure that materials used in our submarines are fit for purpose, in terms of product innovation, performance, failure diagnosis, operational management, and the positive advancement of materials science. In the Materials Technology Team, you would become part of a dedicated group of expert metallurgists, welding engineers, and non-metallic material specialists with extensive qualifications and experience. Establish material strategies and policies that govern all submarine-related activities while addressing materials challenges across various programs and related business sectors. Explore additive manufacturing, spearheading research initiatives aimed at harnessing and advancing innovative techniques for incorporation into submarine construction processes.

Training:

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Training Outcome:
