Mobile PSV/HGV Mechanic

Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for a Mobile PSV / HGV Mechanic to work for our client based in Wednesbury, WS10.

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced PSV / HGV Mechanic to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of PSV and HGV vehicles as well as Diesel engines used in various applications. The goal is to ensure that all vehicles are operating safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legal regulations and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, City & Guilds, or equivalentPrevious experience working with Cummins or similar diesel engines, with the ability to fully overhaul enginesProven experience as a PSV or HGV Mechanic/TechnicianStrong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skillsThe ability to work independently as well as part of a teamA valid UK driving licenseA solid understanding of DVSA compliance and safety regulations

Key responsibilities will include:

Performing routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on PSVs in line with company and manufacturer guidelines, focusing on Diesel enginesDiagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faultsEnsuring all vehicles meet DVSA and company safety standards and complianceCarrying out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of vehiclesMaintaining accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time spentPreparing vehicles for MOT testing and performing inspections to the required standardsApplying troubleshooting and advanced mechanical skills to address vehicle issuesAdhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all timesCollaborating with colleagues and management to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow, while delivering high-quality service

Hours of Work: 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday (Overtime available)

Salary: £30,000 per annum DOE.

Permanent position for the successful candidate.
