IT Apprentice (Smiths Group plc)
Service Desk Support: (IT Operations, Cyber & Data/Analytics)
Provide technical support to internal users across multiple regions and languages. Log, triage, and resolve incidents and service requests using ITSM tools (e.g., BMC Helix). Escalate complex issues to second-line support teams. Assist in maintaining knowledge base articles and FAQs.Infrastructure & Applications: (IT Operations, Cyber & Data/Analytics)
Support hardware provisioning, setup, and troubleshooting (laptops, desktops, mobile devices). Assist with software installations, configurations, updates, and license management. Participate in routine maintenance tasks such as patching, backups and reporting. Help monitor operational performance and report anomalies.Project Support:
Contribute to IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts. Document processes and assist in user training and communications. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to support project delivery.Training Outcome:
The opportunity may offer a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on availability.
