Apprentice Welder Fabricator (36318)

A normal day would include:

Read and interpret drawings to ensure accurate production Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work Constructing base templates if necessary Using a variety of welding methods to include TIG, MIG and MMA Using hand fitting tools and techniques Fabricating and constructing metal components Grinding and finishing completed products Understand Health and Safety procedures and apply to their working environment Learn how to use measuring tools (electronic and manual) to take precise measurements for cutting and shaping Select appropriate tools and settings for a given task Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment Maintains a safe and clean workstation Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed Eventually working independently and part of a team
