Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

As our Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, you will work to develop competence in Mechanical Fitting. This includes:  

Attending scheduled maintenance activities to identify and fix potential problems before they become catastrophic.    Carrying out Regular checks for damage or wear, and to ensure that equipment is working properly.    Cleaning and lubricating assets to ensure they are fit for purpose and working within guidelines.    Attending breakdowns, Identifying the cause of a problem using diagnostic tools as well as fixing broken parts or replacing defective components.    There will also be the role of ensuring mechanical parts are in a safe working condition this will include communicating any issues to other Technical Experts.    Utilising I.T. equipment to provide updates on job roles.    Following health and safety practices and attending relevant training.

Training:

This apprenticeship is delivered through HETA based in Hull split into two parts. The first part is studying core practical skills of a Mechanical Engineer and knoweldge through studying full time for the first academic year. The second part is for the remainder of the apprenticeship within the workplace building a portoflio of evidence. 



Training Outcome:
This role comes with a progression plan which is linked to pay increases. The role can lead to expanding on technical skills to leadership roles within the company.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, typically 8.00am to 4.00pm. Post the role, there will be some unsociable working.
