Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship
Our Engineering apprenticeship can last up to 48 months, depending on what stage of your learning you join us.
On a standard 48 month program we aim to cover the following:
Year 1 -
full time college - 2-3 days per week at SWDT - covering 7 units – following the Lvl2 Engineering Operative EAL qualification (aligned to the maintenance pathway doing H+S, Communications,Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
CAD (for maintenance), Electrical wiring and testing, Mechanical maintenance, Hand fitting/bench fitting techniques)
1day per week – Lvl3 BTEC Diploma Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (11 units in total)
Year 2:
1day per week at college – Lvl3 BTEC Diploma Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. 4 days on site at Caw
Year 3:
1 day per week HTQ (General Engineering) (Possibly 1day extra day at college – completing remaining units BTEC – approx. 3units)
Year 4:
1 day per week HTQ (General Engineering), 4 days at Caw.

Training Outcome:
A sucessful apprentice can aim to be offered a Line Support Technician role at the end of the programe - salary currently set at £56,592.52

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday -College hours during year 1. When on site working hours will be 8:30am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday in year 2. Year 3 and 4 you can expect to move onto shift working (4 on 4 off days and nights 6-6)
