Early Years Educator Apprentice

Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment as required by OFSTED. These may include but are not limited to arts & crafts, sports & games and gardening. Ensure the safe collection of children from schools by foot, minibus or taxi. Including
liaison with schools and teachers. Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment. Following strict procedures in terms of entry and exit to the premises. Supervision of children to ensure that all activities are undertaken with minimal risk and within centre guidelines. Maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the centre, including inspecting and cleaning of all areas as appropriate. Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met. Administering first aid (if qualified) and recording of all accidents and incidents occurring during the play session. Keeping all play equipment and materials clean, in good order and safely stored. Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities. Encouraging parental involvement in the centre. Administration of bookings for the after-school club and school holiday schemes. Keeping all records accurate and up to date. Receiving and accurately recording income. Completing registers and reacting appropriately to absence ensuring that all children are accounted for. Updating daily computerised and manual records of the centre’s attendances and activities. Attending meetings relating to JPPC and the wider Town Council team.

Training Outcome:

On completion you will become a qualified Early Years Educator and will become a permanement member of the team, and further opportunities to grow with the business.

Working Hours :
Term time - 20 hours per week Monday to Friday 2.00pm – 6.00pm School holidays - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 7.5 hour shifts will be allocated between 7.30am – 7.00pm
