Governance Officer Apprentice
Overall governance: understanding the processes, regulations and legislation which underpin the governance and decision-making framework of the CIPD and EAPM and how to support the boards in adhering to these.
Compliance: reviewing and contributing to the development and promotion of CIPD’s internal policies and statements of compliance as required.
Laws and regulations: understanding how CIPD’s charitable purpose, governing documents and frameworks are applied and assisting with keeping them up to date, accurate and accessible.
Internal audit: contributing to the co-ordination of CIPD internal audits both in helping form responses to questions/findings and reporting on progress made against recommendations.
Record-keeping: supporting the maintenance of logical, accurate governance records, producing high-quality minutes, scheduling meetings and drafting agendas.
Communication: assisting with the promotion of the Legal & Governance directorate’s role and resources on CIPD’s intranet and sharing information on governance matters as required.
Risk-management: contributing to promoting sound risk management processes within the CIPD, assessing and reporting on risk, and raising awareness of future developments.
Governance reporting: supporting reporting requirements with external bodies such as Companies House and the Charity Commission, the filing of company accounts and meeting any other aspects of year-end compliance including supporting annual general meetings.
Board recruitment: supporting the recruitment, induction, development, evaluation and succession planning of board trustees.
Managing information: maintain accurate records and information including data of a personal nature, understanding the risk associated with data processing and how to use technology and software to support this activity.
Personal development: attending and engaging with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors/assessor. Managing your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship.
Training:
The training will be delivered online and you will attend monthly lectures with additional weekly learning activities.
This will take place in the work place.
Training Outcome:
You will be providing administrative support to the Legal and Governance directorate of the CIPD in areas of governance, compliance and risk, including the CIPD Secretariat and the EAPM (European Association for People Management) Secretariat teams.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
