Building Services Degree Apprenticeship

Become familiar with the development of technical scopes, design preparation and installation/commissioning support for small scale local infrastructure performance renewals on London Underground stations & associated infrastructure. Support the development of technical scopes for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) infrastructure Support in the supervision of external design and installation  Commissioning support for medium scale performance improvements on the DLR system.    Preparing designs and installing or commissioning support for medium scale infrastructure performance enhancements. Gain experience improving e.g. new station ticket halls, upgraded retail provisions in stations, substation ventilation and mid tunnel ventilation fans.    Understand the technical scopes development and preparation of designs for a varying range of commercial development projects, in particular provision of retail units across the TfL estate.    Design preparation and installation of TfL’s street and road lighting infrastructure, focusing on performance improvements. Assist in the preparation of technical work scopes or designs for major tube line capacity upgrade works.

Training:
The qualification you will earn is accredited by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE)  

Training Outcome:

Upon successful completion of this scheme, you could roll-off into a Junior Engineer position in one of our E&M sub-teams. From here, you could have the opportunity to continue developing into one of our resident technical discipline experts, an experienced Senior Project Engineer or even a Senior Leader. The current Technical Director of Engineering and the Chief Capital Officer for TfL both started their careers as apprentices demonstrating that our apprentices can aspire to senior leadership positions or anything else in between.

Working Hours :
The role will be based in London.  Hybrid working (typically working from home no more than 50% of the time) will be the default arrangement going forward, although some courses and placements will require full-time attendance. TBC.
